Δαναοί

Etymology: Ancient Greek tribal name Δαναοί (Danaoi), referring to the descendants of Danaos, a mythical king of Argos. The term became one of Homer's three main names for the Greeks in the Iliad, alongside Achaeans and Argives. Danaos was said to have come from Egypt with his fifty daughters, linking Greek and Egyptian mythological traditions.
